Capital One Philippines Champions Future-Ready Leadership, Earns Spot in Asia’s Best Workplaces

Date Published: October 2025

Capital One Philippines continues to invest in its leadership pipeline through a values-based development system that ensures leaders are not only promoted, but also prepared for the work ahead – and the results speak for themselves. A certified Great Place to Work for three years in a row and ranked 4th in the IT-BPM industry under the Philippines‘ Best Workplaces list this year, the company also just made its debut on Asia’s Best Workplaces 2025.

These accolades validate the strength of its mission and purpose-driven leadership programs, with its people-centric culture and strong focus on innovative and impactful work, investing in its associates’ careers and wellness, and strengthening its reputation as an employer of choice in the region.

Investing in Careers, Growing Leaders at Every Level

As workforce dynamics evolve, Capital One Philippines takes a proactive approach to talent development through thoughtfully designed programs that prepare its associates for leadership roles even before they’re promoted. Capital One Philippines has embedded career readiness into the associate experience to ensure its workforce is equipped for next-level responsibilities well in advance

The company has doubled down on internal mobility, targeted upskilling, and cross-functional exposure as part of its long-term initiative to cultivate talent from within while nurturing new joiners. Its leadership-centric initiative, for example, has been a cornerstone of its talent strategy. The eight-week readiness program uses a blended learning approach to equip high-potential associates for frontline leadership roles, successfully producing 124 graduates with an impressive 90% promotion rate to Unit Manager. This program also ensures that every new leader finishes their essential training on coaching and management frameworks within the first 30 days to help set them up for success.

“True leadership requires a support system to be effective,” said Head of Human Resources Phil Bravo. “We develop our associates in a way that ensures they’re aligned with our mission, values, and purpose, and more importantly, ready for the new responsibilities that come with a new role. At every stage of an associate’s growth, we ask: What does support look like here? Then we design our people enablement programs to address those needs.”

360-Degree Focus on Employee Well-Being

This approach has helped both early-career professionals and seasoned leaders transition confidently into larger roles, not only with a strong sense of clarity and purpose at work but also with an assurance that their overall well-being is being cared for. Even time outside work is respected and valued.

Javi Rey is a Senior Manager for Operations and leads various associate-focused initiatives

For Senior Department Manager for Operations Javi Rey, being a leader in operations and head of various associate initiatives have allowed him to help shape a culture where associates can live their best lives – both in and out of work regardless of where they are in their careers. “We design every experience to connect our associates in authentic ways. These moments spark conversations and strengthen bonds. It's how we create not just a great place to work, but a place where people feel inspired to engage beyond their familiar circles.”

He added that their goal is to create activities that also contribute to their collective sense of belonging - whether they are putting a spotlight on meaningful advocacies that benefit communities or simply creating moments of joy and laughter that bring teams and families together. When people have that foundation, he said, they’re more willing to step up, grow further, and eventually lead better.

Capital One Philippines' purposeful investment in its people demonstrates a profound commitment that goes beyond conventional training — building an organization where every associate is empowered to grow, lead, and redefine what’s possible for their careers, the business, and the communities they serve.
