The importance of access to clean water is something that cannot be understated. Sadly, despite all the advancements we are experiencing, many communities in this world are unable to drink a glass of clean water. This was the cornerstone of a partnership that was forged years ago with Planet Water Foundation.
For Capital One Philippines, we anchored our community impact investments on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Providing access to clean water through Planet Water helps reduce poverty in our communities while indirectly supporting education. With clean water towers in schools, children no longer need to spend hours collecting water or recovering from an illness due to waterborne diseases, leading to improved literacy rates and higher future employment prospects. We are excited to build five more towers by year-end to be deployed in the areas of Quezon, Cavite, and Samar (Visayas) which brings our total to 77 water towers
Our partnership with Planet Water has allowed us to change lives not just in the Philippines but in other parts of the world. Different teams across our organization are partnering with us to stand up more water towers in other communities we operate in such as Latin America. We will continue to share our journey and encourage others within and outside of Capital One to collaborate with Planet Water to scale the impact of this program.
