One of the most rewarding parts of my role at Capital One Philippines is leading our community investments and this includes our partnership with Planet Water Foundation, a non-profit organization devoted to providing access to safe drinking water to impoverished communities. Being on the ground, shoulder to shoulder with the broader team, has given me a deep sense of fulfillment when making a tangible difference in the lives of Filipinos - which goes beyond meeting corporate social responsibility goals.
When I’m out in the field with our team, I get to witness firsthand the transformative power of clean water. I’ve seen children’s faces light up when they realize they no longer need to walk for miles to fetch water. I’ve spoken to parents who no longer worry about waterborne diseases that could keep their children from attending school. And I’ve stood with our team, proud of the towers we’ve built together, knowing that each one changes lives, strengthens communities, and creates opportunities for people to thrive.
What energizes me most is the collective spirit that drives us. It’s not just the Capital One Philippines team that makes this possible - our concerted efforts are supported by various teams across the globe, from Capital One US to local community leaders. Everyone comes together with a shared purpose, knowing that every drop of clean water contributes to a healthier, more resilient future.
These experiences fuel my passion for the work we do. Seeing the direct impact of our efforts reminds me why we continue to push forward, build more towers, and inspire others to join us. It’s more than a project - it’s a movement that gives hope, opportunity, and life to those who need it most.
And every time I look at the photos we’ve taken with the team - especially after a long day of hard work - I’m reminded of the incredible people I get to do this with. That’s what keeps me energized and excited for the future. Together, we’re making a lasting difference.
